Alexa Stead Dally, known as Lexie by her friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 4, 2023, at the age of 30. She was the beloved wife, the moon and stars, of Ben Johnson, with whom she fell in love in Burlington, VT, while they were both students at Champlain College. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her parents Heidi and Patrick Dally of Essex, VT, sister Kylie and husband Jamie along with nephew Joseph, sister Rayna and niece Daisy, Aunt Lisa and cousin Annabelle, Uncle Billy, Uncle Danny, Aunt Robyn and Uncle John, and Aunt Beverly and Uncle Jerome, as well as her mother- and father-in-law Kellie and Todd Johnson, brothers-in-law Kameron Johnson and Justin Hilkey, sister-in-law and wife Artemis and Kathryn Eden, and Ryan Russell. Lexie was a delight to meet, a joy to know, and a privilege to love. She leaves a hole in all our lives, and she takes a piece of our hearts with her passing. Lexie loved nature. She enjoyed camping, hiking, and most importantly exploring the many worlds of fungi, rocks, and critters found on the forest floor. She shared her love of nature with whoever was with her and made us all look a little closer at the little things that surround us. Lexie also took the time to learn and practice the artisan skills of historical communities, especially the Vikings and early American settlers. She enthusiastically taught others the knowledge and skills she had developed throughout her life. Lexie was also a very talented artist in many mediums. Her unique and beautiful creations will continue to be admired by those lucky enough to behold them. May Lexie live on through this work, and her spirit be remembered and loved. And may her memory be always for a blessing. Her love for her family and friends will not be forgotten. Visiting hours will be from 3:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at New Vision Church of Christ (3129 Market Avenue North, Canton, OH 44714) in Canton, OH. A celebration of life will be held atop Mt. Philo in Vermont on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 3:00 PM. Arrangements entrusted to the Mark R. Vrabel Funeral Home, North Canton, OH 330-452-4041.
