Alejandro Martinez Terrazas, 93 of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021 with family members by his side.
Alex was born to the late Atilano & Carmen Terrazas July 18, 1928 in Doole, Texas. He married Herminia "Minnie" Terrazas (Deceased) on March 20, 1954. They were married for 65 years.
He is survived by his children; Blanca E. De La Rosa and husband Carlos, Abigaye Torres and husband Sam and Robert Terrazas and wife Bertha; grandchildren Bryan G. De La Rosa, Carlos De La Rosa IV and wife Kelley, Michael A. Terrazas and wife Bianca, Kandis Irizarry and husband John, Katrina M. Torrey and Marcus A. Terrazas and wife Adriana; great grandchildren Anna G. Williams and husband Devin, Dylan M. De La Rosa, Sophia Granados, Dartagnan M. De La Rosa, Olivia Gonzalez, Elaina Gonzalez and Christian Terrazas; great-great grandchild Juliet De La Rosa; seven siblings Rosendo Terrazas (Deceased), Albert Terrazas (Deceased), Victor Terrazas, Josie Garza (Deceased), Jovita Arteaga, Nellie Mireles (Deceased) and Mary Garza.
Alex spent his youth in the Eola, Millersview area working with his father on farms. He then served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He spent part of his service time in Alaska; he talked a lot about working in the extremely cold weather. He married Minnie and they spent time in Hereford, Texas & Hollis, Oklahoma; they eventually settled in San Angelo to raise their three children. He worked as a transport driver for Gandy's Dairy until he retired; when he was not driving on the road he was doing carpentry making cabinets and gardening. He also loved the game of Baseball, he played for several years on weekends with his friends in local towns around San Angelo. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord, he and Minnie made Primera Bautista Iglesia their church to worship the Lord. They were both very involved in the ministry. He put his carpentry skills to use to keep the church structurally sound for members and guests to come hear the word of the Lord. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home Friday, July 30, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Millersview Cemetery. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com
