Aldeberta Rezendes Fernandes

Aldeberta (Rezendes) Fernandes, 89, of St. Augustine, FL, passed away July 20, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. She was born March 24, 1932 on the island of Sao Miguel Azores.

She along with her husband owned and operated Windy's Variety Store and Continental Catering in Wallingford, CT, from 1972-1980 and Michaels Sandwich Shop in St. Augustine from 1980-1996.

She was a loving mother and a wonderful hostess to all that graced her table.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Fernandes and his wife, Donna; daughter, Donna Gianotti, all of St. Augustine; granddaughters, Jocelyn Fernandes Orlando, Melissa Gianotti Davis and her husband, Jason, E. Palatka; and great-granddaughter, Alexei Davis, E. Palatka.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Fernandes, son-in-law, John Gianotti, granddaughter, Ginelle Gianotti, granddaughter, Justine Fernandes, mother, Mary Castro and sister, Eugenia Netto.

Private services will be held.

St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
