Albina R Manrique, 92, of Mount Vernon, WA passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 1, 1929, in Ojuelos, Mexico to Jose and Maria Rodriguez. Albina met Guadalupe Sanchez Manrique while working for the same employer in Texas. They fell in love and were married in 1945. They moved to Toppenish, WA in 1957 and settled in Skagit County in 1972. Together they were blessed with 16 children. Albina is survived by Soila Manrique, James Manrique, Mary Aurora, Joe Manrique, Richard "Harris" Manrique, Henry Manrique, Julie Johnston, Mike Ross Manrique, Martin Manrique, and Jesse Leonard Manrique. She is also survived by her sister Maria Santos as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Albina leaves behind her beloved cat Smokey. Albina was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Sanchez Manrique, children Guadalupe M Flores, Ofelia Manrique, Eugene "Blue" Manrique, David Barney Manrique, Martin Manrique, and Guadalupe Manrique Jr. She was also preceded in death her sisters Maria Campos and Delores Partida. Mom was loved by many and she will be dearly missed especially by her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as Grandma Pino. She always remembered everyone's birthday. A time of viewing will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 11:00am at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA. with a reception to follow.
