Albert Joseph Parmeter, 80, of Burlington, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Oct. 14, 1917, he was the son of Albert E. and Emma Sophia Stoerzbach Parmeter. On Oct 12, 1940 he married Jessie Stanturf in Kahoka Mo.
Mr. Parmeter graduated from Burlington High School. He was a U,S. Navy veteran of World War II and a machinist foreman at Murray Iron Works in Burlington. He retired in 1983 after 41 years.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Parmeter and Dennis Parmeter both of Burlington, three granddaughters; two two great grandchildren' and two sisters, Phyllis Alter and Ruth Hill, both of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Parmeter will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Zion United Church of Christ.
