Albert Hershel "Buddy' Jones, Jr., passed away on June 16, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on September 2, 1943, to Albert Hershel, Sr. and Virginia Louise Presley Jones in Tippah County - Mississippi. He retired from Genesco after 10 years of service and 20 years with WoodCraft. Buddy was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict in the Second Armored Division "Hell On Wheels", Tank Mechanic, and an Expert Marksman. He was a member National Rifle Association and a member of North Ripley Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 19, 2019, in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Warren Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Tiplersville Cemetery at Tiplersville, MS.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 7:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at McBride Funeral Home.
Buddy is survived by his wife: Carolyn Jean Ballard Jones of Ripley, MS; three sons: Chris Jones (Rhonda) of Ripley, MS, Corey Jones (Fiancee - Collene Davis of Ripley, MS, Casey Jones of Ripley, MS. two brothers: Terry Jones (Bonnie) of Walnut, MS, Billy M. Jones of Tiplersville, MS; two sisters: Helen Luna of Walnut, MS, Brenda Shea of Tiplersville, MS; six grandchildren: Megan and Paul Williams of Memphis, TN, Alex Jones, Eli Jones, Joshua Jones Abigail Jones all of Ripley, MS, Cayla and David Glover of Falkner, MS, and one great-grandchild: Emilia Glover of Falkner, MS.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Jerry Wayne Jones; and one sister Gloria Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Eli Jones, Joshua Jones, Alex Jones, David Glover, Paul Williams, Jonathan Ballard; Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Bailey, Tim Ballard, Bob Pannell, Willie Pannell, Natalie Marie Wood his V.A. Nurse.
