Albert Leslie Ball passed away suddenly in the loving arms of his wife Jeanette at his home in Orford, NH on December 22, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 80 years old.
Albert was born on October 17, 1941 at home in Warren, NH to Leslie and Doris Ball. He attended Warren Grade School and Orford High School.
Albert married his high-school sweetheart Jeanette Woodward on July 27, 1963. Albert and Jeanette had recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Together they made their home and raised a family in Orford.
Albert joined the Vermont National Guard on August 29, 1960 and received his Honorable Discharge on February 4, 1969.
He owned and operated Ball Trucking for 30 years. He also drove for Allen Rogers Corp. for 23 years.
Albert enjoyed time with his wife and family including three grandsons, family gatherings, cookouts, celebrations and get-togethers. He also loved and enjoyed the many, many years of laughing and playing games together with Jeanette on their computer. They also enjoyed many trips together to go "yard-sale'ing" and to every flea market they could find.
Albert and Jeanette enjoyed traveling to different places around the country, their many trips to Arizona, Las Vegas, California, Colorado, Nashville, TN and West Virginia. All up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida. They loved their special place in Wells Beach, ME where they spent many Summer trips. Albert and Jeanette had just recently made a fun trip to Wells Beach for the day on November 18th.
Albert so enjoyed the cross-country trips that he made with son Steve. He also enjoyed time in Kennebunk, ME at his daughter Diane's campground with family.
He will always be remembered for his wonderful and dry, witty sense of humor. He was well known for always being ready with a great story of a joke to tell, or teaching his 3 grandsons all the old "ditties" that they loved him to sing for them.
Albert had a great love for hunting. He spent many years hunting with his best friend and brother-in-law Wendell "Unk". They loved taking the camper to Maplewood in Vermont every weekend through hunting season as well as hunting in NH. He fished every chance he could get.
He enjoyed horse pulls and especially the Father's Day pulls at the Haverhill Fairgrounds with friends and family.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything whether mechanical, electrical, plumbing or carpentry. He loves fixing things for others and pursuing the projects Jeanette had for him.
Albert had an enormous heart of gold and was always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone he could.
He will be remembered for his collection of tools of every description most of which he had to have two of! The family loves to see him ordering or buying anything that he saw on "As Seen On TV".
