Albert William Brown left this world holding his wife's hand on April 4, 2024. He was born April 17, 1952, to Evelyn and William Brown in Sturgis MI. Al developed a strong work ethic on the family farm in Copemish, MI. From an early age, he knew that he had a lot to share with the world, which led him to pursue a teaching degree at Jackson Community College and later Central Michigan University. Although he never formally used his degree, he spent his life learning from the smartest people in the room and took every opportunity to share his abundance of knowledge with the people closest to him. AL was a businessman. Where others saw challenge, he saw opportunity. He was most proud of the success he had owning the snowmobile shop which he owned and ran with his brothers which became the number one dealership in the state and was ranked top four in the country. He always had larger than life dreams and ideas, which led him to starting Al's Aggregate, B&B Development, and South Street Development. Al credited a lot of his success to his brother and long-term business partner Scott. Al's favorite things to talk about were politics, religion, and money, which he did almost daily with his friends at the "coffee shop" in Stapletons. He cherished the advice and friendship he got over the years starting each day there. Al was an advocate for his community, whether it was plowing snow, lending out his equipment, or maintaining the skating rink in Benzonia. He was more than willing to use his time and resources to help the community. In his fifties he met the love of his life, Terri, and with her came family. He knew the joys and sorrows of unconditional love and expressed the peace he had in a life well lived. Al was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Carol Chandler. He is survived by his siblings Diane (Frank Weiland) McClure, Eric (Betsy Kuipers) Brown, Mark (Donna) Brown, Chris (Tony) Ruskowski and Scott (Melissa) Brown. To carry on Al's love and memory are his wife of 25 years Terri Cobb, daughters Helena (Charlie) Brozofsky, Trinidi Whiteford, and Erin (Rich) Stickley. Grandchildren, Tevihn (Sami) Whiteford, Nevi Smith, Aydin (Hannah) Vos, Fallon Smith, Syldee and Hazel Brozofsky, Loretta and Josephine Stickley. Great Grands, Atticus and Athena Whiteford, and Cayson and Copelynn Vos. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday April 9th at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior at Jowett Family Funeral Home of Benzonia, Mi. A Burial will be at Benzonia Township Cemetery at a later date.
