Alan Ray Williams of Betterton passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on the 11th of June. He was 62 years old. He was born into a Marine family at Camp Lejeune, NC on October 3rd, 1959. During his transformative years as a "Marine brat", he resided on or around several Marine Corps installations both on the East and West coasts. For the majority of his adult life he lived in Florida and California working in the Food Services and Hospitality industries.
He was predeceased by his older brother, George, a very special nephew, Jason and his mother, Margaret E. Williams, all of Oceanside, CA. He is survived by his father, Jake Williams and a sister, Joyce DeVader, both of Betterton, a sister, Janet Richards (Jim) of Murietta, CA and a very special friend and confidant, Roselyn Williams of Clearwater, FL. He is also survived by several nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews, all of Florida and California. Zigi, a Mexican Chihuahua and his companion for seventeen years, also survives.
Alan was a member of C. Henry Price II, Squadron 246. The Squadron has established a scholarship in his name. Contributions in his memory may be made to C. Henry Price II, Squadron 246, P. O. Box 100, Betterton, MD 21610.
