Alan Stephen Prokop of Oceanside, California passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 49. At the age of seven, he sustained an illness from which he never fully recovered.
Alan was born in Topeka, Kansas the son of Dr. Bradford and Adrienne Prokop. He was educated in the Topeka Public Schools and was a graduate of Topeka West High School. Al was an honors graduate of the University of Tulsa where he majored in Political Science and International Relations. Throughout his life he spent personal and professional time in political endeavors and supporting various causes and candidates.
Al enjoyed working in client service roles. He was skilled at building relationships. He recently retired from a managerial position at Thompson Reuters, a multinational mass media company.
Al loved living on the California coast, were he spent his happiest times at the beach taking long walks with his friends. His love for people resulted in him building and maintaining friendships throughout his life. During the last twelve years, he enjoyed a very special relationship with his closest friend, Robbyn.
Alan is survived by his parents, three siblings, Janet, Linda and Edward, their spouses as well as three nieces and four nephews.
Because of the pandemic, a formal service will not be held at this time. A family gathering and remembrance will take place in the future.
