Alan W. Clark, 86 died July 6th, 2021 at his home with his wife at his side. Fourteen members of his family gathered on the 4th to honor him and to be with him.
Alan lived in Azalia almost all of his life, all but the time he spent in the United States Navy serving aboard the ship the U.S.S. Carter Hall.
He was born August 25th, 1934 in Azalia, Indiana. He was the son of Imogene & Kenneth Helt. He was the grandson of Chester & Sybil Clark. Alan was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Survivors are Pat Clark of Azalia, his son, Dr. Scott Alan Clark of Braselton, GA., two daughters, Jodi Clark of Columbus & Janet (Kevin) Silva of Indianapolis. He had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He married Patricia Clark on November 29, 1957. He has two sisters, Kathryn (Don) Amos and Karen (Duane) Loy, a brother, William (Julie) Helt.
Mr. Clark worked at Cummins just a few days shy of 30 years. He worked on the engine assembly, then was unit manager over assembly training, then plant order management.
He was a life-long member of the Sandcreek-Azalia Friends Meeting. He was also a 50-year member of the Elizabethtown Masonic Lodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandcreek-Azalia Friends Meeting.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastors Peggy Caldwell and Fred Darling officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the service time. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Sandcreek Friends Cemetery.
