Agnes Eileen Peterson, age 89, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bishop Wicke Health Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Paul Peterson. Agnes was born in Stamford on November 10, 1932 daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Riley) Doherty and was a Stamford resident for most of her life before moving to Shelton 22 years ago. She was an insurance agent for many years until her retirement. Most of all, she cherished her family and devoted her time to raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren.
Agnes was the beloved mother of Paul (Teresa) Peterson, Donald (Agi) Peterson, Gary (Carol) Peterson, Kim (Kenneth) Sabatino, Thomas (Karen) Peterson, Terri (Eamon) O’Connor and Sharon (Brendan) Bannon. She was also survived by 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by a brother Patrick Doherty, a sister Mary Ellen Kotches and a sister Katherine Zurkowski.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Saturday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Her burial will be private.
