Agnes Janes passed away peacefully on February 13th 2020. Agnes had been living at the Aegis assisted living home in Ventura California for the last several years. She was looked after and frequently visited by her daughter Linda Thomas and Linda's husband Bill Thomas. They lived very close to Agnes.
Agnes was born Agnes Rita Browne on January 3rd, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She spent most of her career working for Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) where she eventually rose to the position of administrative assistant to the President of ARCO Chemicals and Minerals.
Agnes excelled at administration, attention to detail, and getting things done efficiently. She was also an accomplished seamstress, cook, and crafts person. In retirement, she traveled extensively, and for a period of time enjoyed sailing with her husband and family on their sailboat, the "Live Now".
Agnes cared immensely about family and friends. She was very close with all of them during her long life. She was one of 12 siblings and the last one to pass on.
Aggie was preceded in death by: her husband Edward Malcolm Janes, her daughter Susan Manning White, and her son Stephen Manning. Agnes is survived by her daughter Linda Thomas (husband Bill, granddaughter Elissa, grandson Erik), her step-sons John Janes (wife Virginia, granddaughter Kelly), and Richard Janes (grandson Edward, granddaughter Jennifer, granddaughter Kim, and granddaughter Kelsey).
There were also great grandchildren; Mariah, Aiden, Mekhi, Jack, Brodie, and Eddie.
In addition Agnes is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She will be missed dearly by all.
