Adeline Alfreida Mann, 95, of Zumbrota, died Tuesday June 25, 2019 at the Zumbrota Care Center.
The funeral service will be Friday June 28th at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with the Rev. Wayne Schoch officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and the visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery.
Adeline A. Hadel was born January 17, 1924 to Gustave and Freida Hadel in Stewartville, Minnesota. She attended elementary school for the deaf in Rochester where she met Helen Keller. Adeline and her family moved to Zumbrota in 1933. She was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church by Pastor Horn in 1940. She graduated from the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf High School in Faribault, Minnesota in 1944.
On March 25, 1945 Adeline married Raymond Mann at Christ Lutheran Church. They lived on the family farm until 1970 when they moved to the city of Zumbrota. Adeline worked as a nursing assistant at the Zumbrota Care Center for 26 years.
Adeline most enjoyed her family (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren), bingo, playing cards, and embroidery.
Adeline is survived by her children, Charlotte (Douglas) Neff of Red Wing, Mary Lee Olson and Lois Mann (daughter-in-law) of Kasson, Donna Mann (Dallas) Backhaus of Rochester, John (Diane) Mann, and Terry (Susan) Mann of Zumbrota; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; son Richard; sons-in-law William Smith and James Olson; brothers Walter and Herbert Hadel; her sister Elizabeth Zielsdorf-Fuchs; and a great granddaughter Jessica Marie King.
Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel, 1475 Jefferson Drive in Zumbrota. If so desired, memorials may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church.
