Help us celebrate Adam! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Adam.
Mr. Adam "AJ" Alfonso, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 27, 2021, just one day after his 49th birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA, August 26, 1972, the son of Frank Alfonso and the late Darrilyn Kern Alfonso Hover, he graduated Taconic High School.
AJ was employed by B&G Restaurant Supply, where he dedicated 15 years of service.
AJ was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing basketball, and loved watching his favorite teams, the Buffalo Bills, the New York Knicks, and the Boston Red Sox. Moreso, perhaps, than relaxing to watch a game, AJ loved talking smack to his son and brother about their (lack of) taste in football teams.
AJ loved watching his children, Mason and Mia play sports, especially hockey (which both Mason and Mia played), and also softball (for Mia). He cherished every moment spent with them and was always happiest when they were by his side.
Besides his father, Frank Alfonso, AJ is survived by his children, Mason Alfonso and Mia Alfonso. He leaves his brother, Frank Alfonso (Sarah), and his sister, Kristalyn Alfonso. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Owen and Evan, and Taylee, and Raelyn, as well as his great niece. AJ was predeceased by his mother, Darrilyn Alfonso Hover, who passed away August 18, 2021, as well as his younger brother, Ian Welch.
AJ will not only be remembered for his knack for making others laugh, but also for having one of the biggest hearts imaginable. While he will be sorely missed by those he touched, there is comfort knowing that his memory will continue to bring a smile to all, just as his presence always did.
