Mr. Adal Smith Sr., 81, died at peace in his home in South Bend, Indiana on Thursday, February 4, 2021, of natural causes. Born on August 22, 1939, in Michigan City, Indiana, of Rebecca Richardson, and Adal Goldsmith Harris.
He lived in Michigan City, Indiana, before settling in South Bend and marrying his Bride, Betty B. Smith. After working many years Adal retired from Bendix in 2005 and continued to work as an independent builder of his own company A&B Construction.
Adal Smith Sr. was a hardworking Father and loving Grandfather. He was conscientious, generous, honest, and a humble Servant of God. Brother Smith was also a proud faithful member of the Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ.
Adal was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty B. Smith; Son, John Francis Smith; Sisters: Dorothy Hudson-Scott, Hattie Parks, Lorraine Campbell, Mary Herron; and Brothers: Richard Smith, Chester Smith, James Richardson, K.C. Jones, and Sylvester Jones.
He is survived by his Children: Adal Smith Jr., Ralph Smith, Deborah Williams, Jerry Thomas, and Beauty Sue Thomas; Grandchildren Kimberly Williams, Jacqueline Williams, Chrishana Stoner, Adal Smith III, Ralph Smith Jr., Raven Smith, and AleXavier John Smith; Great Grandchildren: Ashley Granderson Williams, Jawoin Williams, Whitney Williams, Rachele Douglas and Johnisha Smith; One Great-Great-Grandson, Isaiah Williams; one Brother, Willie Earl Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews of Michigan City, Indiana.
Services will be held at Pentecostal Cathedral on Friday February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing at 10:00 a.m.
