Ada C. Race, 92 died Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born December 8, 1926 in Randolph, VT the daughter of Alford D. and Alice G. (Murray) Manning. She moved to the Miller Pond area of Strafford at the age of 14. On February 23, 1946 she married Wendell R. Race. Together they raised five children. Wendell died January 18, 2000.
Ada did house cleaning for people in Hanover and Strafford for many years. She loved her family, her flowers and her many pets, especially her dogs "Laddie" and "Pretty Girl."
She is survived by her brother Walter Manning and her children, Anah and Freeman (Jr.) Tuttle, Kathrine and Wayne Fifield, Robert and Lillian Race, Deborah Sanborn and William and Tina Race, 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, her special friend Wanette Stalker and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Wendell and her siblings, Helen Stone, Ida Pleasant, Arvin Manning and June Chamberlin.
There are no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10am at the United Church of Strafford with Rev. Tom Kinder officiating, with fellowship and refreshments to follow. Burial will be at the Fair View Cemetery in Randolph, VT at 2pm.
